I have paid Farmers for commerciall and residential policies for 15 years.
I filed a claim for a roof on my personal home in 2008. The deductable was 3000 dollars.
The two roofers that came out for bids, were so high!! it is a tiny house. AT that time, I did not have an extra 3000 dollars.. I found out that adjuster with Farmers
is no longer an employee. My agent in Austin, ( DO NOT USE THEM)
said he would cancel the claim. I NEVER accepted any money for the roof.
We had hail damage again in 2009( thank goodness I did not have it replaced the first time) I called them again. they totaled the roof again..and then said since the 2008 claim was never closed,they would not re open the second claim.
I still have a destroyed roof. I never accepted any money... and they never replaced anything ever. I understand ,, according to the TEXAS INSURANCE COMMISSION
there are thousands of complaints against them!! RIP OFF COMPANY>> BEWARE

You need to ask to get paid for the first claim. They have to pay it by law esp if the roof was totalled.
