Thank you for taking the time to read this. the owner of the shop I work at and have worked at for the last 2 years just received 15 felony count of obtaining money by false pretense filed by the insurance company. This man has owned and operated repair facilities for over 30 years and there are a lot of people out there that hate body shops, PDR shops, and mechanic shops. And we are a paintless dent repair facility. The reason I started working for this company 2 years ago retiring from a profession that made me 6 figures a year was because I enjoy helping people. And we do help people. we help them every day. We know the economy has hurt people’s incomes and intern hurts their ability to focus on anything but getting by. Because of the low overhead involved in PDR we do top quality work for wholesale prices. We wave up to $500.00 of our customers’ deductible we provide them with a rental car if they don’t have rental insurance or another means of transportation. We also offer home pick-up and delivery along with dealing with your insurance company for you after you have filed ur claim. All of these things we offer yes because it increases business but it also helps people get there car repaired by their insurance they pay for every month day in and day out we are all required to carry insurance.
The long of the short of what there claiming is if they estimate to replace a panel we are required to replace it. even if it is repairable back to 100%. For the people that don't know PDR is a a lot less invasive process of repairing a vehicles Hail damage than bondo painting or replacing body parts. Would you rather have your original panel original paint and a straight body on your brand new car or a new fender new hood or new roof ? once you know what is fully involved in these processes. Body work has its place even in hail claims not all damage is repairable with PDR but with 20 years’ worth of expertise in our PDR techs we can repair more than your average PDR tech.
This is an argument that has been running since the invention of PDR. Weather to use PDR or body work. I respect the need for body shops as much as the need for PDR shops but insurance companies pitting body shop against PDR shop keeps the shops fighting between themselves and not realizing that they are trying to drive down repair cost to lower their loss ratios. Body shops and PDR shops are both needed repair processes but if we don’t band together before long insurance companies are going to juristic how you run your shop. you as the professional at repairing vehicles being told how to do your job by someone who has most of the time only read about how to do it in a book. They can’t complete repairs and barely know what is involved in doing it.
We are a small shop and just trying to help people. were an A+ rated shop with the BBB guarantee all of our work, we inform our customers about what their rights are on their insurance claim and policy. Most people don't know you have 2 years to file your claim, catastrophe claims don't count against you, most insurance companies charge only one deductible for multiples claims during a catastrophic event.
All of the counts they are presenting the ins company says we do impeccable work. Our customers don’t have a single complaint about any of the repairs. But they want money and the ability to tell every shop how they WILL repair a vehicle.
Is there anyone that can help the little guy?
