Corporate Credit Card

Group,

I'm now a former employee of Farmers, During my 1.5 years with the group I had a Corporate American Express Card that I used only for business purposes. when I left Farmers they asked for the card back. Since then, I have been contacted by American Express repeatedly asking for the final payments. Farmers was nice enough to cancel the card, but not reconcile the final balances on the card.

I do not feel that the charges on the card should be my responsibility because the card was used ONLY for business expenses.

Has anyone else had the same situation happen? Do you know who I should contact within Farmers to have this taken care of? Help!

The ridiculous expense management system has left a lot of former employees in that situation.

The good news? It's on Farmers dime and credit. They will eventually pay it. (Lots of employees have actually gone on spending sprees prior to resigning. I've had to approve more than a few 'reconciling expense reports" over the years.

The not so good news? While it shouldn't impact your credit rating, Amex will probably black list your name until Farmers pays it if you nappy for an Amex on your wn.

I've spoke with AMEX and explained the situation. Amex reps told me that the expenses are my responsibility simply because when the card was issued Farmers collected my personal info, including my SS# and ultimately the card is in my name.

With this info in mind, is the above still true? This is on Farmers Credit and Dime?

I am in the same situation, the charges are business only. I submitted the expenses as required; I left the company and I am not paying their bill.

Unfortunately when you got the card you signed up to be personally responsible for it. It sucks, but you are on the hook for whatever wasn't paid on the card regardless of what it was used for.

All amex corporate cards work this way.
