My situation is eerily similar to others posted here

Last week my car was hit in a busy Southern California intersection by a driver running the red light. The driver was insured through Farmers. After five calls over the course of three days to the assigned insurance adjuster, I was able to give my statement. They never took pictures, they never asked for repair estimates, they never sent anyone out to look at the damage to my car. The adjuster said that she needed to collect witness statements and other evidence and would get back to me in a few days. Three hours later she called back and said that it was Farmers determination that I was partially at fault for the accident because the other driver (the one running the red light mind you) was further into the intersection than I was and therefore I should have yielded the right of way to her. Farmers wanted me to accept a 70% settlement and wanted me to agree to accept 30% of the responsibility for the accident. What I didn't realize about the 30% deal was that I would also have to pay 30% of the OTHER driver's repairs and medical bills, etc. - Farmers NEVER mentioned this. I only found out when my insurance company (Allstate) told me. I have since handed this over to my insurance company and they are dealing with it. I refuse to be bullied by Farmers Insurance!!
