Used Parts (ie Wrecking Yard Parts ) used in repair. WA state.

Posted by Paul Hendry
Im wondering if anyone else has had forced apon them recycled parts used in a repair on their vehicle, it seems quite a regular occurance be it as a third party or as a first party. The reason I ask is I think if a critical component is replaced using a used part what guarantee do we have that the part has been correctly examined for metal stress, micro fractures, and other nasty's that may lurk under the paint work or stoving ? Farmer have replaced a suspension component on my car using such an item, and to be honest I'm not happy especially considering that all that is done is a visual inspection nothing further.

I honestly think Farmers are putting their insured and third party at risk because of this practice, and suspect that we may have a Class action lawsuit as they cannot guarantee the safety of the party,

Can I suggest that you read the blog of Mike Harber of Crashtalk (www,crashtalk.com) in regard to this practice, and if interested Contact me to see if we can actually file a suit against these cowboy insurers with WA state.
