About 6 years ago, we had our hot water tank in the gargage leak and damage the drywall and there was mold...we reported it to our Farmers insurance agent who inspected and said it had been leaking overtime and we were not covered...We paid for everything ourselves.

Now I see water stains and maybe dark stains(mold) on my kitchen ceiling which is directly above the master bathroom. So it could be the tub/shower or toliet leaking. This looks like it can be alot of money..since Farmers was so helpful before I want to be prepared before I call them. We also pay for American HomeShield protection. I am thinking of calling them first...but I suspect Farmers will consider or look at anything but from their office? Any suggestions on how to handle this before I even call our agent?

My house was broken into this thanksgiving. Everything of value was taken along with minor vandalism. The Farmers adjustor said that the claim would be settled in ten days, well, they decided that a special investigator was needed. This guy is asking questions about a prior BK and how my current money situation is. It is one month and I have nothing except some e mails that say- this takes some time.

Do you have any advice, we are broke and our life is in shambles until they settle this claim.

Hello I am hoping someone may be able to help we have farmers and they have approved our claim for water/mold damage due to our roof leaking.They have hired a company to come in and remove all the water and mold damage we have. The original estimate from the removal company was for all of our exterior walls to be removed however farmers decided that even though the water/mold damage is from the roof that only removing 4ft from the ground should be enough to get rid of all the damage.... ( scratching head) now correct me if I'm wrong but if the water is coming down from the roof wouldn't the whole wall be effected?
Another thing is that the removal company (who just started working last week but demo is supposed to start this week) was told specifically to see if any of the damage could be caused by something other then the roof lik a leaky pipe or something. My question is that if they determine that some of the damage is from the roof and other parts from something else does that mean that they don't have to cover the entire demo/removal bill? I'm very concerned because the company they sent in HAS to remove all the mold/water damage in the house regardless. I'm worried that if they remove/demo anything that they feel may be from a leaking pipe we are going to be responsible for paying for that portion of the removal company's bill. Can they do that?
(FYI farmers has canceled our policy this month)

well to put it bluntly, this has nothing to do with Farmers you moron. They didn't file the suit and they had nothing to do with it. It does not matter that you told someone to put up the dog and a child walked in, in fact, that goes against you. Why did you want the dog to be put up? Has he caused issues before? who the hell was watching the child and why did the dog harm this child without the child even doing anything. You need to pull you head out and learn some responsibility. You sound like some candy assed little girl trying to get someone else to clean up your damn mess and bad decisions.

How can I get my homeowners claim settlement treated rightly?

I filed a claim with my homeowners insurance company on 2.2.2019 from a storm that had winds and rain of 70+mph throughout the day and night. The resulting damage was trees and large branches landing on my roof and yard., along with major damage on my roof in sections and taking the remainder of the roofs life out. A section of the roof kept lifting up and down during the storm also.

During my claim process I was assigned a total of 5 adjusters and 2 supervisors, which meant I had to start new with each one. My agent was not much help for me.

My insurance company ended the claim paying only for 12-15 shingles for my roof, stating that my policy only covers for damaged shingles. I reviewed my policy and nowhere in the policy, that I could find, is there a section or wording that states they only pay for shingles. I read that they pay for damages.

My roof was severely damaged and I bought this policy to assist me in replacing parts of my home when storms like that one happens and damages occur.

There are a lot more details I've left out not knowing what I need to include, but the most important one to me is that they are claiming that my policy only pays for parts, per damaged shingle, and it doesn't.

I am truly asking for help with this. I am at a loss and know I've been wrongly treated. I can normally resolve this kind of thing with the company, but this time I'm looking for more direction because of the response I've received from them.

I am looking for input and direction. Can you assist me with anything that will help me?

Nancy,

Look for a roofing company in your city that works with insurance companies. A "storm damage recovery" or "insurance claims specialist". We recently had our whole roof replaced by our insurance company (Country Financial) after many shingles were damaged by multiple storms. This happened to 5-10 houses in our neighborhood. Unfortunately for one of my neighbors that had Farmers Insurance Company for homeowners their roof wasn't replaced. The roofing company that worked with them and many other homes in our neighborhood said they (Farmers Insurance) were "too stingy". When will people learn? Farmers takes your money and they don't pay when you need it most. You may want to contact your Insurance Commissioner:

Farmers does not have the ability to erase your husbands name off a lawsuit that is just a really stupid request. They didn't file the lawsuit. As far as your dog biting someone, that is absolute liability and you will probably lose the lawsuit depending on what it is that they are asking for. UNLESS this is a friendly lawsuit and an Ad Volorem (sp?) has been hired for the benefit of your child. this is up to the Judge, not you nor the company. What you are saying and asking is ridiculous
