Insurance does not pay for roof repair due to storm/wind damage

I live in Phoenix/Scottsdale area. In Mid August 2018, sever thunderstorm and winds blow off some tiles on the roof and caused two places leaking (one of the leaks damaged the interior dry wall as well). I called Farmers insurance; an adjuster Justin Allsup was assigned. Justin stopped by, assessed the damage, evaluated the case, and told me that Farmers insurance will NOT cover the roof repair because it is not a storm damage (but rather wear and tear). I asked him what constitutes a roof damage due to storm/wind. He said storm damage roof has to be something the storm or wind tear/cut through the underlayment of the roof (blow off the tiles and causing leaks is not). I asked for his supervisor Ryan Gustafson, who told me the same thing. On top of that both Justin and Ryan provided bad customer services when answering my questions/concerns.

This whole insurance thing is very unfair to customers. Insurance company will come up with every excuse not to cover the loss. Every year they keep increasing the insurance premium.

No more Farmers Insurance!
