I was involved in an accident with a Farmers Insured person. There were 3 cars involved and out of all 3 I was the least at fault and the most inconvienced by the process. My daughter (13) was hurt,my car totalled, my life totally turned upside down. And during the negotiating stages of my daughters personal ingury case the adjustor assigned to it up and went on vacation for 2 flipping weeks. And left no-one in charge of her cases. Not only did Farmers Insurance let me go 4 days without a car they have put off negotiations for almost a year. Now when we have agreed on an amount she up and leaves????????????? Meanwhile I am still paying my daughters medical bills out of my own pocket. Not to mention the time off work and other misc. expenses incurred during this time. My lawyer is trying to get in touch with her supervisor but no-one seems to know who that might be. I do understand accidents happen but, is it not the insurance companies job to make sure no-one is put-out by the process? I am very frusrtated and dont really understand how any insurance company can question inguries or out of pocket expenses or a rental car. Now I just want to be done with the whole thing.

No its not the job of the insurance company to make sure no one is put out by a loss, it is thier job to protect thier insureds. They will not release any funds to you till you sign a release and have completed whatever treatment your getting. However, you are entitled to be compensated for the time you were off taking your daughter to the Dr. Since there was multi-able cars involved, could it be a policy limits issue? Also, if your in Texas, your not entitled to a rent car, your only entitled to loss of use. Also, if your car is a total loss, your not entitled to any loss of use what so ever. Your attorney should have told you this.
