Hi Marguerite, The SIU suit was settled about 3 years ago. i went through the same crap as you did. The O/T of course, working for a manager (Chuck Bos in Grand Rapids, Mi) who would satnd in meetings and tell us who his favorites were and who gets the biggest raises, made fun of employees going through chemo and fabricating false accusations of substandard work performance. I was curious if anybody else out there was involved in the SIU class action O/T suit. This matter went to mediation recently and the settlement amount I was advised of seems rather low. I spooke with plaintiff counsel and was told the figures were based on a 2 year time period. I'm not certain why I thought it was based on a 3 year time period. Anybody else curious about the settlment?by Farmers Parolee - Employee and Agent Complaints
One of a couple of things will happen. If you no longer contact them about the claim, they will close the file and not pay you a dime. If you choose to continue to pursue it, they will continue to ask for a recorded statement from you. If you don't submit, the next step is, they will ask you to submit to an EUO (Examination Under Oath). This is when you'll be asked to go to their attorneys officeby Farmers Parolee - General Discussions
After filing my complaint through the EEOC in April 2008, I just received my right to sue letter two weeks ago. I talked with another employee who was interested in filing a class action suit through an attorney in S.C. I hadn't been able to do anything until I received my right to sue letter. I'm in the process of following up with him now. Keep an eye on this post or shoot me an email and we caby Farmers Parolee - Employee and Agent Complaints
Sign me up. Same scenario. Fabricated information in order to get me out the door. I'm on the East Coast. The corruption is company-wide. H/R could care less what Management is up to. Seems they condone the unethical behavior.by Farmers Parolee - Employee and Agent Complaints
Filed a complaint with the BBB and all of a sudden, Paula "The Bitch" Garavaglia was able to stop the mailings (allegedly. We'll see). Such liars. For two years saying they tried but, just couldn't figure it outr. I was told by their ambulance chasing attorney, Michael Mandel that it was a "simple fix". If it was that easy, why didn't they take care of it 2 years ago? Mikey Mby Farmers Parolee - Employee and Agent Complaints
Bravo Richard! Leave the Farmers Ignorance Group in the dust. They're corrupt and they know it.by Farmers Parolee - Homeowners Related Complaints
Daniela, I worked as a Farmers SIU Investigator. there's no doubt that Farmers has no ethics. I recall when I was working a burglary of an apartment, I found no suspicious activity on the claim. Police advised there were no indications of foul play or any involvement on the (Farmers) Insured. The Claims Dept. advised they were going to move forward and pay the claim. Hello P.A. I understand the frustration of the whole discrimination issue (Look at my post above). Bottom line is Farmers doesn't know how to function without being corrupt and unethical. They lie, cheat and then laugh about it. Say a prayer that you didn't get the job. You would have been hating life from tha moment on. This site speaks for itself (as does Jobvent.com). I know where you're coby Farmers Parolee - Employee and Agent Complaints
Well, still receiving the damn Total Rewards newsletters which I asked slag bitch Paula Garavaglia to get off her lazy ass and have somebody stop sending them to me, After sending my email, Pig Paula decides to have an attorney contact me and tell me to leave Farmers alone. This rookie clown attorney was contacted by me immeidately by phone and email. I told him he needs to counsel his client onby Farmers Parolee - Employee and Agent Complaints
What has your attorney done? or what has he advised you as far as any recourse? It seems Farmers is doing whatever possible to screw you over (They LOVE doing that to people) but, you haven't metioned your attorney's involvement. It's a well known fact, Farmers is extremely corrupt (I think it's part of their creed) and because of that, your attorney should be doing whatever possible to get themby Farmers Parolee - Auto Related Complaints
Farmers Standard Operating Procedure! Gillob, I was employed by The Farmers Ignorance Group for 9 years (although not as an Agent). I can assure you that EVERYTHING Farmers does is corrupt and backhanded. Eventhough I cannot say for sure but, I'd still bet money that they will somehow conjure up a way to tell you, you're not entitled to a refund. Either that or they'll give you a small portion bby Farmers Parolee - General Discussions
I placed a call to the American Diabetes Association to discuss my EEOC/ADA charges against Farmers. The legal advocate I spoke with advised me they receive a lot of calls/complaints about Farmers discriminating against employees/former employees with diabetes. Keep Up The Great Work Farmers!!!! Just wanted to wish everybody a Happy and Prosporous New Year!! Hopefully 2010 will be a year of change where Farmers will suffer some backlash for their corrupt ways. If you have an action, case, charges etc....against Farmers, I hope they move forward for you and there is a positive outcome in your favor. Do whatever possible to stick it the Farmers Ignorance Group. I would go so far as to try and document lost earnings for your business for the past 7+ months and stick that under their noses too. I'm surprised Farmers didn't send out a Special Investigator in an attempt to say you committed arson and insurance fraud. They'll do whatever possible to deny your claim. Sorry to hear you were terminated (or am I?). God knows you will be better off without the daily "beatings". the horror stories are endless. I agree that something needs to be done here. Farmers seems to be having a field day with this.I was just about to turn 43 when I was terminated. I'm also diabetic, requested an ADA accomodation when I was ill and was turned down and ultimately terminated. Farmers is corrupt no matter what the circumstances. You can wait to see how your injuries are healing etc....You have no obligation to do anything just because Farmers says so. Don't let them bully you. The only time you would need to concern yourself is when the statute is coming into play. Don't let that pass otherwise, you're out of luck. I was terminated in Feb.08 from Farmers yet, I still received Total Rewards Newsletters. Yeah, I know, probably not a big deal. I could easily toss them in the trash. I was rather aggrevated at one point due to the fact, one of them offered an additional $100-$300. in an employees paycheck if they participated in a wellness program. Farmers isn't buying your story. I use to work as an SIU Investigator for Farmers (6 years until I was terminated for a temporary medical issue related to my being diabetic). Either the Claims Adjuster referred your claim to the SIU or the SIU picked your claim out and advised the Claims Adjuster that they want to investigate the claim. Hey Liberty, Sorry to hear of your having to contend with the corrupt ways of Farmers. I went through VERY similar circumstances. As a matter of facts. Clayton Roloff and Dave who posted on this thread also went through similar circumstances. Dave and I had the opportunity to correspond and speak on the phone (8/8). As expected, many of our circumstances regarding H/R, termination etc.... are mirror images of each other. I say, file another class action O/T suit. Farmers got popped on one O/T suit and paid millions. Now SIU has their O/T suit. It's obvious their so damn stupid, they don't learn from their corrupt intentional acts. They will do whatever they want. Farmers doesn't believe in ethics. Never have, never will. I was terminated due to being diabetic. I applied for jobs and one in particular, i was told during the interview, I was in like flint. When they clalled Farmers. I was later told by this company that they chose another person. It's really odd. I was terminatd by this butthole company due to my diabetes ( I filed EEOC charges). I started a new job at the beginning of May 2009 (I was unemployed for 16 months!).
