|
|
I began my insurance agency in 1973 as an independent agent. After 13 years I decided to move my book of business to Farmers. I was a loyal Farmers Agent for 15 years. My business was growing at 10% per year, for 5 years enjoyed a 30% loss ratio profit, a retention ratio in excess of 96%, not one single Customer complaint to either FIC or the Commissionier.
You might imagine my surprise when I received notice from FIC of their intent to terminate my Agency appointment. I requested a Termination Review Board hearing. The review board voted I hadn't done any thing wrong let alone something to be terminated for and voted against termination.
At 55 years old, you might imagine my surprise when Farmers went forward with termination. Suddenly, the business I had spent 12 to 14 hour days serving my Customers with integrity for 28 years was gone!
Are their agents reading this site who have been terminated for "No cause" or perhaps pending termination?

|

Several days ago I placed a note on your web site where I shared I had been a loyal Farmers Agent, and after 28 years Farmers terminated my Agency for "no cause" giving my Customer files to a younger agent who received a 3% commission where I had been enjoying a 10% commission. As a result of that short note I have received notice of 4 agents, all over 50 years old where Farmers has or is about to terminate their agencies for the same reason. If you have been terminated or have been advised you are about to be terminated please contact me right away.

You might seriously think about talking to an employment attorney. Make sure you have all those people that have contacted you on board and their detailed stories. This could turn into a class action lawsuit if you have the time and effort to push forward.
Good luck! |

I am a career agent leaving Farmers. Another agent will get my book (I'll get it back with my new company legally), but the agent that does gets 50% of the total commission and if they can cross sell the company for new business then they get 100%!
I was recrited very far away from my home based upon lies from the DM. It was not feasible for me to invest anything for a business that was geographically undesirable - but I got a better job in inisurance anyway. |
